APK Installer on WSA - How to Install Android Software on Windows
Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is a new feature in Windows 11. It's an app that allows you to install and sideload Android apps. However, there are other ways to do the same thing.
One way is to run an emulator. This will emulate the native ARM(64) apps on x86 platforms. Another method is to use a Google Chrome extension to run APK files. While this is a good idea, it isn't the most convenient.
The more conventional way of installing Android apps on a Windows PC is to download an app from the Amazon Appstore. Unlike other app stores, the Amazon Appstore is only available in the US. In order to access the store, you'll need an Amazon account.
Another approach is to install a third-party Android app hosting resource. These are often open source. For instance, the F-Droid store features a lot of open-source apps. You can also search for them in the Microsoft Store.
There are also other free methods to install Android apps on Windows. They include BlueStacks and WSA. Although they may not be as convenient as downloading apps directly from the app store, they are a more reliable solution.
Finally, if you're looking for a better way to run your favorite mobile apps, you should consider the newest Windows version. Unfortunately, it is still a work in progress. That said, it has some great features that make it an attractive option for mobile developers.
